FOR your 50th I Baked you a CAKE

My girlfriend turns 50 and we are going to
celebrate with her today. (I know she is getting
a cricut for her birthday) so i thought hmm i need
a cricut head on the cake. I don't have the cartridge that
has a cricut head so i made it up using gypsy.
Once again I made my own arms up for the
Robot as i don't like the ones that are on the
cart. Cut the robot at 6.2". Used the wonderful
number candles from sweet treats cartridge.

Oh and so the robot would not fall forward with the
weight of the cake in his hands I glued coins in his legs.

Girls just want to have FUN

One cricut cart i am enjoying my is the
Forever young. I cut out six of the base of the girls
and the poodle out of niffty fifthties .
The Lace on the card I got from one of my favorite places
Resource Rescue Inc. It is a wonderful place
(Where else can you get discount craft supplies that are also eco-friendly? At Resource Rescue, you can save on the cost of your art and craft materials while using our materials. Resource Rescue Inc. is a non-profit organization which collects rejects, seconds and factory offcuts for distribution to the community.)
What i did with the lace which was white when i got it was
coloured it with copic reinker.
The yellow background of the card is also from the
Resource Rescue Inc as well
It is paint swatches ( thought the swatches had a
bristol paint word embossed across it .The way i hid
that was after cutting my pieces and then used
Cuttle bug embossing folder embossing it
with dots (which took away the embossed wording )

How I save time and paper (cutting lots at once) Gypsy set UP

I used
2 x black 6"x12"
1 x white
6"x12"
1 x yellow
6"x12"
1 x red
6"x12"
1 x blue
6"x12"
1 x green 6" x 8"
1 x gray
6" x 8"
1 x flash
6" x 8"
scrap of brown

Set up the gypsy to cut out enough things to cut
out for heaps of cards all at once from LOTS of
diferent carts.

As I was cutting the colours i added words
to fill in the gaps on the mat

Then made them up adding shading and pen work
as i went
So over the past 2 weeks I have been showing the result
of all these cuts . Saved me a lot of time spending the
little extra time working on the gypsy before cutting.

HELPFUL HINT for cricut user (well i think so)

By now if you come to my blog often. You would
know that i now have a gypsy. I love the gypsy.
LOVE the idea of not having to get carts out
every time i cut something .
WELL the other week while i was sitting with my
gypsy in hand. I thought hmm I think i need to
go get some of the cartridge books out to see what
i need to add. (has anyone had this problem?)
THEN after finishing what i was designing I then
looked at all the books on my table (which
by the way i knew that they had to all be put back
away). READ ON---------

With the table looking much like the picture above.
There has to be an easier way. THINK THINK think?
OK looking over at my husband with his book reader
in hand I said to him "HEY! does that read PDF's?"
And guess what it does. Hmm -----
! I have an idea.
I went to the cricut cartridges site HERE
Downloaded the PDF's of the carts I own and
put them on SD mini card and GUESS WHAT
It worked ! It works fantastic no more
racing over to get out handbooks they are all
in this one little book reader .------------

BY THE WAY
I did not take my husband's book reader.
I made him go buy me one LOL.

Hope this of some use to people out there in blog land
I would love to hear if it is

BEE a slide pop up !

My friend Stampowl (Frances) has made two of these
slide cards this week. And soon as i seen them I went
to the site to see how they were made HERE.

So when it came to testing the beta version of
SCAL (for cutting on the ECRAFT Machine)
this past weekend I knew straight away this
would be the first card i would make while testing it .

My first thought on the new SCAL for us on the
ECRAFT is "WOW" i am a happy person
out of 5 hours of seeing what it will do right it only
did one mistakes .

So now to my card I got a free colouring book/wallpaper picture
from the internet HERE. Used my favorite inkscape to
turn into svg pattern (OH and take of the grass)
then took it to scal and cut it out . It cut perfectly.
