With a butterfly image , die cut or stamped image you can
give it a bit of life and even allow it to be flattened for to
fit in envelope .
LETS BEGIN
with your butterfly , tape and piece of recycled
plastic ( any this one i have is the bubble wrap of
a cricut cartridge as it is sturdy enough )
give it a bit of life and even allow it to be flattened for to
fit in envelope .

plastic ( any this one i have is the bubble wrap of

but let it out of envelope and the plastic will make the wings spring up
(my card base is not really stuck together as i have something else in
mind for this butterfly BUT tape your card mats in place better )
Gives 3D to your card with out having to tell people to bend the wings up
when they take the card out of envelope
What a brilliant idea!!!! Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteif you cut into strips and give it a gentle curve, then attach one end to the back of the butterfly and another between the layers of your matting and layering at the top, you can also make your butterflies fly!
ReplyDeletekeep up the good work

ReplyDeleteThanks for this idea. Just did it and it worked perfectly.
ReplyDeletewow Susan what a brilliant idea I use a lot of butterflies and always tell people to fluff out the wings to display. Not any more thanks for the inspiration.
ReplyDeleteSusan - I have done something similar for a 3-D effect, but your technique will work better! Wish I'd thought of that - LOL!
