Bauble Box in MAKE THE CUT

Yesterday there was a request for this bauble box pattern
in make the cut over on the forum and I thought it would be a fun
thing for me to make so here is mine
and here is me putting it together so you get a better
idea of what the pattern has
Designed in MAKE THE CUT

Keep the base parts seperate so you know to put them
on the base
I ran my layer pieces through the Ebosser
Here all the layers are put on
This is what the base and top looks like when made

Ebosser and Vellum how too

One of the good tests  for a machine is Vellum.
and for the Ebosser  that is one thing I wanted to
try and here is what i learnt.
It is a very crisp embosser and a little too crisp
for vellum as it cracks the vellum .
(see one on left ) But add a piece of
bassel card stock in the embosssing folder with your
vellum and they emboss together and the result
is VERY good (see middle one)

This one is cracked and very yukky looking
 (no cardstock in while embossing)
While this one looks great
(cardstock in while embossing)
pitty that the camera can not show what i mean good
Here is the sandwich I used

Repeat pattern Sizzix embossing folders

I have lots and lots of embossing folders , all brands
and I am here today to show  how to put the sizzix brands
side  by side to get them to look soo neat after going
through the Ebosser.
In this picture I show the sizzix and a darice
folder .
The Sizzix one has  a cut out on one of the sides
where the embossing ends . The other does not .
You can see it bettter in this one
We will put the darice one aside and use that
in another demo (when a package arrives)
With the sizzix one you can get a continuous embossing
just cut card to size and first run through the ebosser
as normal
Then you move it along till it lines up with the last
emboss you did the good thing is that cut out
allows you to get close to repeat the pattern without
a flat line appearing after embossed
Put through you ebosser as normal with normal
sandwich. and the result will be you do not know
where you joined them
(NOTE the real early sizzix ones do not have this cut out)

Easel ebosser'ed card

The other day I mentioned that I had an New Ebosser
Well since then I have been making lots of things
that I can not show just yet . But I have been having
soo much fun with it . It gives a nice crisp emboss
to it even on paper (card below is usine silver paper weight
paper and it worked wonderfully)
I used two brands of embossing folders for this card
one was darice and the other was sizzix
using plates "D" "C" embossing folder with paper and "A"
plates.
Used make the cut and the Zing for the lettering
and Yikes font

What is new in this House?

Before ordering new things for my papercrafting
I have to know where I am going to set them up .
So when I wanted an Ebosser I did work out where
I wanted to put it so it is easy to use at all times for me.
Time when on and NOW I have a new Ebosser
But the day it came I had not got the table built for it to sit
on. So that night I put it on the computer table while I
went to sleep and this is what i found in my Ebosser
in the middle of the night
(No bears were harmed in this blog post)
Sometimes I think my toys come to life in the middle of the
night like in the movies .
Now an Ebosser is a electronic embossing and die cutting
machine. Takes most of the embossing folders and dies
on the market. This card I used a Darcie embossing folder
for the black , and a tim holtz die for the gear boarder.
I cut the robot free hand from scraps of card stock I had
on my table.
I have lots of dies and embossing folders and one of my plans
is to make a list of the sandwiches for the plates as soon
as I have used them stay tuned

Alota Rubberstamp Pop UP Word card (as I demoed in MTC Webinar 6/7th November 2012)

Word pop up card (with my tip to make
making it easier) WATCH HERE
This time I used an alota rubber stamp to decorate it,
as well as putting two of the same bugs on the inside of
the card on a popup mechanism so that when the
card is folded  they are tucked in behind the wording
and when card opens they come out and sit out
from the edges of the card.
The wording on the front was the left over
from when i cut the inside letters .
